SUMMER BREAK

Having posted nothing on this site for almost two months, I might as well come to terms with the fact that I need a little break from blogging.  As some of you know, issues relating the sale of my house and a subsequent relocation to some yet-to-be determined place in the southeast have been consuming a great deal of my time lately.  In addition, both my mind and my body are telling me that I need to spend less time with my computer and more time with the offerings of nature, especially during the summer months.  Accordingly, I will be posting nothing new on my blog until September.  With the fine weather, it's time to devote as much time as possible to walking, biking, and various other avenues of exploration and adventure.

I will return to active blogging in the fall, perhaps with a new format and approach. During the meantime, I will be dropping in on other blogs from time to time, but perhaps with less frequency.

I am blessed to have found so many good friends in the blogging community, and I wish all of you the best in the months ahead.  May your summer be filled with wonder and delight!

Best regards to all,

George

  1. Blogging is enjoyable, but sometimes it becomes a chore.
Summer days bring great joy too and a healthy division of time is to know when to enjoy what.

    Have a wonderful summer, George.

    Love and best wishes,

    Friko

    1. Well said, Friko. A healthy division of time is, indeed, "to know when to enjoy what." That sums up why I am taking this little sabbatical. May your summer also be filled with joy — and thanks for the supportive comment.

  3. George, I understand. I have been thinking of taking a break myself and spending more time in nature. Sometimes, this whole computer thing can really rattle my nerves. Have a good summer, and I look forward to your return.

    1. Thanks, Teresa. The computer has its value, of course, but, like anything else, it can become a bit too addictive if we don't stay on guard. I suppose the same thing can be said about other technological mediums like cell phones and television. Whatever the case, I need a short vacation from technology and its allure. Nonetheless, I look forward to returning in the fall, perhaps with a new approach to my blog.

      Have a great summer yourself!

  4. Yes, I understand you, George. What with one thing and another, I've been blogging a little less myself recently. However, keep tuned to my own blog when you can, as I've an announcement of 'an awfully big adventure' soon!

    1. Thanks, Robert, and rest assured that I will continue to follow your blogs, as well as others. Looking forward to hearing about the forthcoming big adventure. All will be well for each of us so long as we can stay on the move with the spirit of adventurers.

Have a great summer and stay in touch!

  5. Have a great summer, George. I've not been blogging much myself, recently, either. I'll probably find my Mojo (and the time) again though!

  6. Goodbye for awhile, George. Enjoy your time in Nature. I love blogging, but I also often need breaks. Still snow in my yard here in Breckenridge, but I've been biking in Denver this past week. Good Luck on the sale of your property.

  7. I've watched for a new post from you nearly every day in this interim, George, and then the weekend was hectically busy, and I checked just now to find that you had posted Friday! I've missed your posts a lot, but of course the most important thing is that you keep your own inner source replenished. Have a wonderful, active summer, and all the best for the relocation efforts. I look forward to hearing about your adventures in the fall!

    1. Thanks, Ruth. I need to do a little fine-tuning of some things in my life, and taking a break from active blogging this summer will hopefully facilitate the process. Rest assured, however, that I will be following your blog and others, though I doubt that I will be commenting as frequently as usual. I also look forward to returning to more active blogging in the fall, perhaps with a new format and approach.

May you and your family also have a great summer.
